Magazine "Zenit" as the Platform of Zenitodadaism
Abstract
This year, 2021, is the most important „zenith“ year of the Serbian avant-garde. We are celebrating exactly one hundred years of Micić’s magazine Zenit, in February 2021. Already in his second number, this journal announced the existence of Dadaism. So, this is a jubilatory year not only for our Zenitism but also for Serbian Dadaism. It is also exactly half a century since Micić’s death since he died in 1971. And in 1901 were born Dragan Aleksić and Anuška Micić, so it’s 120 years from their birth, and 60 years of Anuška’s death. Why and how we get Zenitodadaism? Zenit, whose first number appeared in February 2021, very soon will become the platform for the promotion of Dadaism. Dragan Aleksić will use Micić’s magazine with great ability, until his departure in April 2022. But, through this cooperation was born something unique in our avant-garde, the junction of two ism’s, Zenitism and Dadaism. Unique not only in Serbian avant-garde but also in Europe. Certainly unique in the whole Dadaism movement, that will since 1916 until nowadays bounce up and down the history of our culture and civilization. This paper is, thus, dedicated to this fantastic junction of those three interesting, unusual and strong personalities: Ljubomir Micić, Branko Ve Poljanski and Dragan Aleksić. They are the key names in the interaction of two movements. Except Micić’s Zenit, Aleksić and Poljanski are the creators of four Dadaist-antidadaist magazines (Da-da-Tank, Dada Jazz, Dada-Jok, Zenit-Express Dada-Jok 2), that put the Serbian avant-garde on the map of the world’s Dadaism.
