“The Serbian Youth Association“ in Szeged
Abstract
The paper provides an overview of the activities of the Serbian Youth Association in Szeged in the 19th century, one of the numerous organizations of Serbian youth in Serbia and abroad dedicated to raising the national spirit and transforming the Serbian language and literature on the basis of Vuk Karadžić’s language reform. The duties and activities of the members of the association, their performances and publications are listed and described in detail. The paper provides extensive material, which includes minutes, correspondence and lists of published works in the 1840s.
