„Полифилова љубавна борба у сну“ (Hypnerotomachia Poliphili) кроз призму Фичина и Лакана
Abstract
The paper problematizes the theme, structure and individual motifs of Poliphilo’s Strife of Love in a Dream (Hypnerotomachia Poliphili), a Renaissance literary work published in 1449 in Venice, through the prism of two distinct theories concerned with human psyche: the apparatuses of Marsilio Ficino’s theological theory, which is chronologically close to this text, and Jacques Lacan’s theoretical psychoanalysis, which was formed more than four and a half centuries later. The paper’s objective is twofold: to provide an insight into the subject of the text itself, as well as a textual analysis of the work through the prism of the theories of Ficino and Lacan. The paper’s hypothesis is that Poliphilo’s Strife of Love in a Dream is a literary journey through the Lacanian “Mirror stage“, essentially characterized by the ambition to reconcile the pagan and the Christian, the classical and the mediaeval.
